Software Engineer II - Platform (Connectivity) - Chase UK

• Join Cloud Platform Engineering tribe building cutting-edge cloud-native AWS infrastructure for 2M+ customer digital bank • Work with Kubernetes clusters, connectivity, databases, and Kafka clusters in production environment • Create automations to eliminate toil and improve developer experience • Collaborate in tribes and squads focusing on specific products with opportunity to move between teams • Build bank of the future from scratch with start-up mentality at established financial institution

• Hold formal training or certification in software engineering with advanced applied experience • Demonstrate hands-on AWS and Terraform infrastructure as code experience • Understand AWS networking concepts and architecture • Possess analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex infrastructure challenges • Operate Kubernetes clusters in production (EKS) • Configure service mesh technologies (Istio) • Manage reverse proxies (Traefik, NGINX, HAProxy) • Write code proficiently in Go programming language • Understand network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ICMP, VPN) • Use network monitoring and diagnostic tools effectively • Follow DevOps principles and SDLC best practices

• Apply software engineering security best practices in cloud environments • Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end software tests • Maintain production systems with on-call experience

• Maintain and improve AWS cloud infrastructure for 24/7 bank operations focusing on stability, performance, security, and compliance • Enhance connectivity between AWS accounts, Chase systems, and third parties ensuring secure customer experiences • Design and create automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Go • Build and support cloud platforms for application developers improving SDLC workflows • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate project efforts across business areas • Participate in on-call rotation to support platform reliability
