How do I calculate my hourly rate from my salary?
To calculate your hourly rate, divide your yearly salary by the total hours you work in a year. Here’s the formula: Hourly Rate = Annual Salary ÷ (Weekly Hours × 52). For example, if you make £50,000 a year and work 37.5 hours a week, £50,000 ÷ (37.5 × 52) = £25.64 per hour.
Can I use the hourly rate calculator for free?
Yes, it is free without any need to sign up. Use our tool as many times as you like to compare salaries. It is especially helpful for remote job talents looking at different offers.
Can I calculate my hourly rate from monthly or weekly pay?
Yes, our pay tool works with annual, monthly, biweekly (every 2 weeks), and weekly pay periods. Just pick your pay period from the dropdown and enter your salary. The calculator will convert it and show you rates for all other periods.
Does this calculator include tax and National Insurance?
No, our rate converter only shows gross pay (before deductions). Your take-home pay will be lower after income tax and National Insurance deductions are made. The amount depends on your tax code, total income, and personal situation.
