What is a mic test tool?
You might know this frightening feeling of talking into your device, while your colleagues or an interviewer can not hear you. With our free tool, you can easily and quickly check whether your audio works well, to prevent any future issues in an important meeting.
Is this really a free tool?
Of course! Feel free to use our free tool without logging in. In case you are looking for a job, feel free to check out our hand-picked remote job listings as well.
Why is my incoming audio not detected in the selector?
Make sure your microphone is properly plugged in and enabled. Next, check your browser settings to ensure you have granted access to your incoming audio. If you are still having issues, try refreshing the page or restarting your browser.
What is the ideal volume level?
Ideally, the volume level should be in the middle to upper range when speaking normally, around 45 percent or more. If the volume level is barely showing anything, you are too quiet, or the mic is somehow obstructed. On the other hand, if the volume level is constantly almost 100 percent, you might want to distance yourself from the device a bit more.
Do you store my recordings?
Absolutely not. The optional recording is only stored temporarily on your local device and never transmitted to us. As soon as you refresh the page or leave it, the recording is completely deleted.
