About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join the Spectacles team building next-generation wearable AR devices that blend the real and virtual worlds. • Develop state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning technologies for Snap’s fifth-generation Spectacles powered by Snap OS. • Collaborate with global Spectacles software and hardware teams from Snap’s London office. • Contribute to Snap’s mission to improve how people live and communicate through camera and AR experiences.

📋 Job Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. • Bring post-bachelor’s experience in computer vision or machine learning, or a master’s degree plus relevant post-grad experience, or a PhD with post-grad experience. • Demonstrate deep understanding in at least one area: machine learning for computer vision or 3D computer vision (SLAM, VIO, 3D localisation). • Understand, debug, and improve existing codebases and develop new algorithms using advanced computer vision and ML techniques. • Show strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams. • Show genuine passion for continuous learning and supporting colleagues’ growth.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Hold an MSc or PhD in a related field such as Computer Vision or Machine Learning. • Integrate machine learning models into augmented reality solutions for production use. • Optimize neural networks (pruning, quantization, distillation) for efficient deployment on resource-constrained devices. • Develop production-quality software using C++ for high-performance systems. • Work within AR, wearable, or embedded-device environments.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Develop and productise novel technologies for next-generation wearable AR devices. • Explore and advance state-of-the-art machine learning and computer vision algorithms for Spectacles. • Develop and deploy machine learning models into production AR experiences. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and research teams in computer vision, machine learning, and AR engineering. • Work on solutions that bridge the real and virtual worlds for Snap’s wearable computing devices. • Contribute to high-quality, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
