Lead Software Engineer

• Deliver meaningful impact across key initiatives and help raise the bar for engineering excellence. • Play a hands-on role in designing and building scalable backend systems and tackling complex technical challenges. • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and leaders to develop robust products and features. • Support millions of users and businesses ranging from small and medium organisations to large enterprises. • Power and improve the day-to-day operations of customers around the world through backend services, APIs, and system integrations.

• Have 5+ years of related work experience as a skilful engineer with high standards and a passion for quality. • Have expertise in API design (REST & RPC) and its frameworks including protobuf, gRPC, and OpenAPI. • Have experience building service-oriented architecture, microservices, and modern techniques using Docker, ECS, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, etc. • Have experience with persistence, storage, and caching mechanisms including MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB, and S3. • Build systems that include appropriate monitoring and observability with modern best practices for fault tolerance including caching, eventual consistency, queues, load balancing, and circuit breaking. • Be a strategic problem-solver who excels at tackling complex technical challenges and providing innovative solutions. • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Have experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers and contributing to architectural decisions. • Thrive under high levels of autonomy, take initiative and ownership, and navigate ambiguity effectively. • Be passionate about continuous learning with a deep commitment to staying ahead of industry trends.

• Have experience with Elasticsearch. • Have mastery of PHP or Go.

• Design, implement, and deliver software solutions for product features with consideration for high-performance, high-quality systems and applications. • Write simple, efficient, self-documented, modular, high-quality code that follows best practices and improves the overall codebase. • Uphold a high bar of engineering standards and coordinate with Infrastructure and Quality teams. • Influence and problem-solve with senior, mid, and junior engineers to deliver high-quality outcomes. • Mentor and guide more junior engineers in an impactful and meaningful way to their growth trajectory. • Lead by example, rolling up your sleeves to show the way. • Contribute to architectural decision-making across the engineering organisation.
