Opportunity Green is seeking a Legal Manager to lead expanding steel-focused legal work driving decarbonization in the sector. You will undertake legal research to identify and develop novel legal strategies (contentious and non-contentious) for systemic change, working at the cutting edge of climate law. This role offers the opportunity to support climate-vulnerable countries and fight climate change through innovative legal pathways across aviation, shipping, agriculture, finance, and steel sectors.

🎯 Responsibilities
• Lead implementation of legal strategies for driving decarbonization in the steel sector using novel legal approaches.
• Undertake legal research to identify and develop additional legal strategies for steel sector decarbonization.
• Support existing steel projects including Europe's first climate-related OECD complaint against European steel major.
• Think outside the box to develop innovative legal pathways and identify strategic legal action ideas for system change.
• Work closely with wide range of organizations to obtain technical and policy insight for developing actionable concepts.
• Take forward most promising legal actions with support of wider legal team and lead steel lawyer.
• Support other aspects of work including contributing to funding proposals and developing campaign strategy.
• Provide legal input into communications and take part in organizational committees.
• Support legal work across other sectors and themes such as shipping and aviation.
