About the role

💼 What you will do

Join Phoenix Group's Customer Payroll Team as a Payroll Administrator processing payrolls for pre- and post-retirement customers holding Pensions, Annuities, and Approved Retirement Funds. Develop payroll expertise in a collaborative environment with full training provided, gaining exposure to complex payroll processes and compliance requirements. Work with internal stakeholders and support customers with payroll-related queries.

📋 Job Requirements

• Possess 1-2 years of payroll experience. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats. • Show proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. • Display strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. • Take proactive, hands-on approach and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Show knowledge of payroll accounting and post-retirement products including ARFs and Annuities. • Possess QFA qualification or be actively working towards it. • Display familiarity with Revenue legislation and compliance requirements. • Demonstrate experience with PAYE tax calculations and reconciliations. • Show understanding of data protection and confidentiality standards. • Possess experience supporting financial reconciliation processes. • Display ability to participate in collaborative team projects and initiatives.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end payroll processing accurately and on time including data collection, payroll processing, preparing bank files and cheque registers, and providing payroll reports to Finance. • Take ownership of Annuity Payrolls including BPA payments where applicable. • Provide cover for ARF and Taxed Cash payrolls when required. • Respond promptly to payroll queries from customers and internal teams. • Ensure compliance with Revenue legislation including Payroll Submission and Revenue Payroll Notification. • Maintain strict data protection and confidentiality standards across all processes. • Perform manual tax calculations as required for complex cases. • Support Servicing, Transactional teams, and Advisers with PAYE tax-related queries. • Attend monthly tax reconciliation meetings and assist Finance with payroll tax reconciliations. • Participate in annual Imputed Distribution projects and other payroll-related initiatives.
