About the role

💼 What you will do

Shape how Wise builds and uses data at scale as Product Manager for Data Productivity & Governance. Build platform capabilities making data easy to find, trust, and use across engineering, product, analytics, risk, privacy, and operations. Own product work replacing siloed knowledge and manual processes with clear self-serve workflows helping teams understand what data exists, who owns it, how it's produced, what it can be used for, and how to get access. Build tooling supporting data classification, permitted usage, and retention and deletion requirements as part of everyday work. Lay foundations making Wise's data ready for AI enabling smarter internal tools and safer customer experiences.

📋 Job Requirements

• Show 2-4 years experience in product, technical programme, analyst, or adjacent roles ideally in data, platform, or security related products. • Demonstrate experience shipping product work end-to-end from problem discovery to delivery and adoption. • Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and lightweight roadmaps with ability to break down ambiguity into practical steps. • Operate comfortably in federated ownership model where teams own their data and systems influencing without authority and building alignment across multiple stakeholders. • Discuss APIs, metadata, data storage concepts, and basic lineage and trust trade-offs with engineers. • Talk to users observing where they struggle and turning that into product improvements. • Communicate clearly with strong written and verbal skills bringing stakeholders along and explaining decisions without jargon.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have familiarity with data discovery and catalogue tools including DataHub, OpenMetadata, Unity Catalog, data profiling, or automated classification and PII detection. • Show exposure to privacy or compliance engineering including ROPA, deletion and retention requirements, consent management, or regulated contexts like GDPR and APRA. • Demonstrate interest in AI enablement understanding how metadata, lineage, and quality signals unlock better automation and safer ML.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Lead product impact of key parts of data productivity and governance platform serving as trust and navigation layer helping teams move quickly while keeping data secure and compliant by default. • Improve data discovery with strong metadata, clear ownership, and simple trust signals helping teams quickly answer what data is, whether they can trust it, where it came from, and who owns it. • Build low-friction workflows including secure, auditable, and usable access requests translating privacy, security, and regulatory requirements into practical tooling enabling teams to do right thing by default. • Build foundations for AI including high-quality metadata, lineage, classification, and reliability signals scaling through automation including automated classification and durable documentation. • Lead capabilities from discovery and design through delivery and adoption partnering with engineers and architects to scope work, make trade-offs, and measure impact across reliability, scalability, efficiency, and performance. • Run pilots, onboard teams, gather feedback, and iterate quickly tracking outcomes including adoption, asset ownership and tagging, time to access, and fewer incidents caused by unclear definitions or unknown lineage.
