About the role

💼 What you will do

Wise is seeking a Lead Data Analyst passionate about Money Without Borders to partner with product, engineering, risk and compliance teams to drive data-driven decisions supporting risk controls and assurance across products. This role focuses on ensuring continuous regulatory compliance across all product streams, building guardrails that enable customers to transact with peace of mind while maintaining global regulatory standards.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics. • Possess strong analytical mind and product intuition centered around banking and financial industry. • Master technical skill-set in Python, advanced SQL, and BI tools. • Show experience working with technical teams including PMs, engineers, and analysts. • Demonstrate relevant experience in data-driven and complex environments with limited guidance. • Exhibit understanding of events data using Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Amplitude or similar tools. • Display strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to translate data into compelling narratives. • Prove hustler-mentality with capability to take work beyond analysis and get things done.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience in Financial Crime and Customer Onboarding domain. • Show knowledge of the fintech ecosystem. • Demonstrate knowledge of utilities like Airflow, Github, and DBT. • Display experience with user-facing products and data.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Scale and improve risk data infrastructure to enable regional teams to dissect metrics at granular levels for proactive risk identification and mitigation. • Build metrics to monitor controls and ensure proper performance while supporting control testing processes. • Establish control efficiency frameworks by analyzing whether controls effectively reduce risk without adversely impacting growth. • Partner with product, engineering, product risk, compliance and cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions with data around regional controls and risk. • Collaborate closely with FinCrime to add regional lens on global risk engines ensuring local risk typologies are monitored and appropriately managed.
