VP of Engineering, Navigation

• Drive technical and operational excellence for Mapbox's Navigation products. • Lead high-performing teams and define the roadmap for Navigation SDK, API, and Dash offerings. • Shape the way people, packages, and vehicles move around the world. • Work closely with Product, Design, customers, and market makers. • Set the vision, create the strategy, and drive execution to achieve market success. • Embed navigation into the fabric of customer applications.

• 15+ years leading engineering organizations, including managing managers. • Experience scaling teams of 200+ engineers. • 15+ years of software engineering experience with deep technical judgment. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. • Proven track record of shipping successful products to market. • Experience coordinating deadlines, setting pricing, developing marketing strategy, and enabling support teams. • Strong written and vocal communication skills for complex ideas to broad audiences. • Data-informed mindset with ability to make speedy decisions without perfect data.

• Background in navigation, mapping, or routing technologies. • Experience managing OEM integrations and technical partnerships. • Experience managing P&L and balancing budgets with investments to drive growth and efficiency. • Experience with mobile or embedded SDKs and apps across iOS, Android, and Linux. • Background in automotive partnerships or in-vehicle navigation.

• Shape the vision and evolve Navigation products, contributing to business and product planning. • Drive strategic objectives and align team work with company and product goals. • Promote collaboration and innovation in an inclusive environment where data-driven decisions fuel success. • Lead architectural decisions and drive adoption of new technologies to maintain competitive edge. • Oversee engineering teams including Dash Apps, 3D Live Navigation, SDKs, Directions, Traffic, Incidents, and Automotive Integrations. • Report directly to the SVP of Location Services. • Hire the best talent and create a culture where team members can learn and grow. • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
